Coach Dan Corsi will be entering his 2nd year as a coach, instructor, and travel ball coordinator at the World of Baseball. Prior to employment at the WOB he was a head varsity baseball coach and science teacher at Campbell High School and Alpharetta High School were each program was ranked in the state’s top 10 and top 5, respectively. While coaching high school, he had the opportunity to coach 20+ student-athletes that went on to play collegiately as well as coaching 6 young men that got drafted by Major League Organizations in rounds 5-21. At the World of Baseball, Coach Corsi is the head 17U Angels coach and has helped guide them to four Perfect Game Pool Championships in 5 attempts. He has lead the team to a 9th place finish in the Perfect Game World Championships in Jupiter, Fl., a 10th place finish out of 142 teams in the Perfect Game National Championships in Marietta, Ga, and a final 4 appearance in the Perfect Game Florida Qualifier in Fort Myers, Fl. Coach played high school ball in Ohio were he was chosen as the Ohio State Player of the Year in 1993 and Eastern Ohio Player of the Year in both 1991 and 1993. He went on to play baseball at the Division 1 level at Georgia State University were he was a conference starter as a true freshman.
Coach Corsi is married to his high school sweetheart, Melany, who is a current teacher in the Camden Co. School District. She coached fastpitch softball for several years guiding her team to the state’s big school Final 4 and also being voted Region Coach of the Year twice. They have two boys, A.J. and Cameron Corsi, who are 5 years old and 2 year old, respectively. In addition, the Corsi’s are expecting twins in May of 2009.
